International Conference on Drug Design and Discovery for Developing Countries

The aim of the Conference is to evaluate the state of the art of drug design methodologies and frontier applications. Particular focus will be given to drugs for diseases widely spread in developing countries (tropical and poverty-related diseases). Attention will be given to the presentations of researchers from developing countries and collaborative programmes. The Conference will include a poster session and discuss possible joint initiatives to be considered for inclusion in future ICS-UNIDO programmes.
 
 
The following topics will be covered:

- Current international initiatives in drug design and discovery
- State of the art of computer drug design and in computer-assisted
  combinatorial chemistry
- R&D achievements in design and discovery of new potential drugs for
  diseases widely spread in developing countries
- Case studies and projects in developing countries on drug design and
  discovery
- Discussion and follow up proposals

Internationally recognised experts will lecture at the Conference.
 

Participation:

The Conference is organized and funded by ICS-UNIDO. There is no registration fee. Travel and living expenses will be covered for invited lecturers as well as a limited number of participants from developing and transition-economy countries (full or partial support) selected by ICS-UNIDO. The total number of participants is limited to 100. Places are also reserved for self-financed participants. Participation of researchers/technologists from academia, applied research centres and industry from developing and transition-economy countries is encouraged.
