FCAP CONFERENCE

Psychometrics: Applications, Training and the Need for Expertise

Fordham University Bronx, New York June 26-27, 2008

Promoting psychometric skills is an imperative component of not only psychological research but social science at large. Recognizing the importance of psychometric training in meeting the increased demand of the experts in this area, the FCAP (Fordham Council on Applied Psychometrics) is holding its first conference with a focused theme on application and training in psychometrics. The conference is devoted to advancing the common understanding of psychometrics as a specialization within psychology and to promoting enriched training of graduate students and applied researchers in the field.

Specifically, the FCAP Conference will focus on defining psychometrics and its applications, the lack of adequate training, and the need for expertise. There will be a mixture of paper and poster sessions that aim to expose the many facets of psychometrics and its applications. The conference will be preceded by a day of technical workshops.
